Insomnia - My Personal Experience

Do you constantly feel fatigued or lack of sleep? In that case, you are missing out 90% of your energy. A sound sleep not only helps in keeping you alert but also enhancing your motivation and productivity thereby keeping you alert and cheerful.

Do you often complain of trouble sleeping?

Do you wake up in the night and find it hard to sleep again? Well, I faced similar circumstances for the past two years where I was haunted by sleep disorders where I struggled to get a good sleep.

Well, there were some nights when I could get a comfortable sleep but these nights were a rarity. In order to get rid of sleep deprivation, I frantically tried natural sleep aids advised by my friends such as listening to music, reading books, using earplugs for complete silence and switching off the lights of the room. Nevertheless, I struggled for sound sleep as sleep apnea took the toll of me thereby leading to emotional and mental drain.

The felling of inability to sleep is hard to portray especially to them who never faced such circumstances. What all one can say, frustration is what all I can say to describe this excruciating experience. With the rising levels of insomnia, my body started showing signs of breaking down. I was sapped of all energy and this led a terrible impact on my work. I always used to think how to fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. I used to try all the latest cures for insomnia.

At this time, I went to my doctor who said that I was suffering from sleep apnea or insomnia. She gave me some sleeping pills and a prescription. Initially, the sleeping pills showed results but after few days, my condition started worsening. With each passing day, I felt as if I went through a major hangover. I faced difficulty in comprehending things and struggled to recall and remember things. I knew that sleeping pills were no good. In addition to the side effects, these sleeping pills were becoming an addiction.

I was literally dragging myself to the point of extreme desperation and frustration. I feared about my life whether I would stay like this forever. This was a spooky feeling that haunted me like anything. I could no longer drag myself with sleep deprivation as sleep apnea was breaking me. It seemed that I was hoping beyond hope.

After several attempts, I now lead a normal life. Now, I take dinner at 7:30 PM. I go to bed 10:00PM and wake up 6:00 AM. I follow this routine everyday.
